2007 Sessions

Choosing to Lead: Empowering Women in Work and Life is a conference to celebrate the choices women have made - at home, in the workplace and around the world - and explore the choices available to us now and in the future.

It may have been the first time you accepted a management position. It may have been when you took charge in an emergency situation. It may have been the first time you voiced your opinion to a group of people. These moments define us as women - and as leaders.

But it's not just one moment that defines leadership. A woman makes a conscious decision everyday to be a leader, when she chooses to lead.

This conference is built around four challenges: Taking Risks, Connecting to People, Choosing Your Balance, and Going Public. Within each track you will discover a pivotal set of skills, information, and wisdom that will increase your capacity to lead:

Taking Risks

Going out on that limb requires planning, resilience, and courage, whether you are in pursuit of entrepreneurial success, a new career, or a world-record.

Connecting to People

This track delivers the powerful communication, negotiation, and networking skills critical to every leader.

Choosing Your Balance

Balancing the needs of family, career, and health requires wisdom, adaptability, and the willingness to say "no."

Going Public

Assuming a public role-whether as an elected office, a highly visible executive position, or a voluntary champion-demands special skills to execute under the pressure of the public gaze.
