Overview
The inaugural Choosing to Lead conference was a great experience for the more than 300 women in attendance April 12-13, 2007 at the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Iowa.
Dedicated to informing, inspiring, and challenging professional women, the conference explored the skills and knowledge necessary to choose, to connect, to take risks and to lead everyday. Choosing to Lead consisted of a dynamic program defined by influential women leaders in Iowa's Technology Corridor.
The initial conference — and now this luncheon — was a response to an identified void in advanced educational programming targeted toward established female executives, elected officials, academics and other professional women.
The foundational Choosing to Lead conference focused on striking a balance between women's career options and lifestyle choices. Now we delve deeper into the important balancing act that successful women are driven to master.
Leadership begins with a simple dream. When you choose to lead, you start a process, which takes your inspiration and heart and moves you down a path of leadership.
