 I am delighted to chair the planning committee for the 2009 Women's Leadership Conference. Plans are well underway for another dynamic and inspirational conference in the spring of 2009 and the growing excitement is hard to contain!

The Choosing to Lead program has grown from a single, ambitious idea to a dynamic exchange of ideas, leadership tools and inspiration for women.

Every woman makes many conscious and deliberate decisions that make her a leader. She has to choose to lead. This conference explores the skills and knowledge necessary to choose, to connect, to take risks and to lead everyday. Many women — including CEOs, government officials, non-profit leaders and business executives — will come together at the 2009 conference to teach and learn from each other.

The three-day event will include keynote speakers of international, national and regional prominence, as well as panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions and networking opportunities. Participants will be inspired and challenged.

When you choose to lead, you start down a path of leadership, much like planners did with the original formation of the Choosing to Lead series of events. I am excited to say that once again, the women that make up the steering committee are putting their considerable talents, ideas and creativity into the 2009 conference, promising to make it the best Choosing to Lead event to date.
