Who should attend the 2009 Choosing to Lead: Leveraging Your Personal Power conference?

The Choosing to Lead program is designed for current and aspiring women leaders from throughout Iowa, who are committed to advancing their leadership knowledge and skills. A woman makes many conscious decisions that make her a leader – choosing to lead, instead of standing on the sidelines.

How did the idea from this conference come about?

The program is a response to an identified void in advanced educational programming targeted toward established female executives, elected officials, academics and other professional women. Originally spearheaded by Donna Katen-Bahensky, now CEO of University of Wisconsin Hospitals & Clinics, the program premiered to overwhelming success, and has grown each year.

Who plans the Choosing to Lead events?

Choosing to Lead consists of a dynamic program defined by the some of the most influential women leaders in Iowa’s Technology Corridor. From CEOs of corporations, to government officials and non-profit leaders, these women represent all facets of age, ethnicity and backgrounds. Their diversity encompasses the spirit of working together as they have created a relevant and vibrant program for women in leadership.

What can I expect to take away from Choosing to Lead: Leveraging Your Personal Power conference?

The objective of this conference is to inspire and challenge women to take action as leaders. It is designed to teach women leaders to successfully identify aspirations, develop goals and achieve their dreams. Attendees can expect to receive tools and ideas to help on their way, no matter what stage in their life.
