Choosing to Lead: Leveraging Your Personal Power, a conference dedicated to informing, inspiring, and challenging women leaders, will convene April 15-17, 2009 at the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Eastern Iowa.

Objectives

• To inspire and challenge
• To provide new knowledge and skills
• To promote access to boards and public office
• To offer networking opportunities
• To help women to achieve a better balance in their lives.

Audience

Current and aspiring women leaders from a broad range of age, ethnicity, occupation and professional levels.

History

The inaugural Choosing to Lead conference in April 2007 was a great success, far surpassing original attendance expectations of 300 with more than 400 women in attendance and hundreds on a waiting list.

In April 2008, the Conference committee followed up the success of 2007 with a luncheon, Choosing to Lead: Meeting Challenges with Grace and Humor, with keynote speaker Mary LoVerde. Again, attendance records were broken with more than 700 women turning out for this event.

The Choosing to Lead series is dedicated to informing, inspiring, and challenging professional women, providing opportunities to explore the skills and knowledge necessary to choose, to connect, to take risks and to lead everyday.

Choosing to Lead programs are defined by influential women leaders in Iowa's Technology Corridor.

Leadership begins with a simple dream. When you choose to lead, you start a process, which takes your inspiration and heart and moves you down a path of leadership.
